Preparing for Full National Certification Site Visit

  1. You will be notified via email by the State Affiliate and asked to work out a date for the visit.

  2. Once your appointment is set up, you will be invoiced for the
    $500 certification fee. Payment is due by the date of the visit.
    Please make check payable to Sinclair Community College.

  3. Complete the self assessment. (Certification Document 2)

  4. Save a copy of the completed self assessment (Certification Document 2), and email as an attachment to

Print out a copy of the appropriate Site Visit Guide (follow link - appropriate guides near the bottom of the page under "Smaple site visit documents") both to use as a rubric and to assemble documents you will need to show the visiting team. We will use the Guide to formulate our questions and ask to see the documents listed below.
    • Additional copies of cover sheet and self assessment
    • Teacher Certificate(s) of Completion for courses taught
    • List of Advisory Council members
    • Minutes of last 2 Advisory Council meetings (if available)
    • List of any internships offered
    • Ten randomly picked PLTW student schedules
    • At least three student portfolios
    • Pathway showing course implementation and how courses are scheduled
    • Copies of any local articulation agreement(s) with post-secondary institutions
