Preparing for Full National Certification Site Visit

  1. You will be notified via email by the State Affiliate and asked to work out a date for the visit.

  2. Once your appointment is set up, you will be invoiced for the
    $500 certification fee. Payment is due by the date of the visit.
    Please make check payable to Sinclair Community College.

  3. Complete the self assessment. (Certification Document 2)

  4. Save a copy of the completed self assessment (Certification Document 2), and email as an attachment to patricia.marshall@sinclair.edu.

  5. Print out a copy of the appropriate Site Visit Guide (follow link - appropriate guides near the bottom of the page under "Smaple site visit documents") both to use as a rubric and to assemble documents you will need to show the visiting team. We will use the Guide to formulate our questions and ask to see the documents listed below.
    Documents:
    • Additional copies of cover sheet and self assessment
    • Teacher Certificate(s) of Completion for courses taught
    • List of Advisory Council members
    • Minutes of last 2 Advisory Council meetings (if available)
    • List of any internships offered
    • Ten randomly picked PLTW student schedules
    • At least three student portfolios
    • Pathway showing course implementation and how courses are scheduled
    • Copies of any local articulation agreement(s) with post-secondary institutions
